ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- The Broncos have released linebacker Boss Bailey, bringing a quick end to the Bailey brothers reunion in Denver.
Boss Bailey's agent, Jack Reale, confirmed the move Wednesday. Boss Bailey was signed last March, uniting him with his Pro Bowl cornerback brother, Champ Bailey.
Boss Bailey played six games for Denver before a left knee injury ended his season in a game at New England on Oct. 20. He was placed on injured reserve and later underwent microfracture surgery.
Reale says he and Bailey will assess his next move once the knee is fully healed.
Before the Broncos, Boss Bailey spent five seasons in Detroit.
Also Wednesday, Denver signed Pro Bowl center Casey Wiegmann to an extension through 2010. Wiegmann is entering his 14th season.
