Q:What's the team's mentality going into the regular season finale?
A:We're just trying to prepare. We know it's a tough game. We haven't won up there since I've been here and guys are playing for a lot, so we're just trying to prepare the best way we can and try to go out there on Sunday and try to play our best football game this year.
Q:Do you kind of relish the role of playing spoiler this late in the season?
A:Not really. We're just trying to go out there and win a game. We're not really thinking about that. We'll let the outside people talk about all that stuff, but we're just trying to prepare the best way we can to try to go out there and put together our bets game so far this year.
Q:What have you seen from the Patriots' run defense this season?
A:They tackle well, they really get after it. I'm pretty sure coach Bill Belichick is going to do a good job. He'll have a game plan ready for us to try to stop our running game. We have to make sure we're able to adjust on the run because I'm pretty sure they're going to do some things differently. They're always tough against the run game, so we have to make sure that we're able to try to put our hats them early on each guy and just take what they give us.
Q:What would you trace your inability to find consistency to?
A:We just haven't been playing consistent. Anytime you play consistent football, we have a good chance to win the game. We just have to be focused throughout the week. You can't get too high on yourself and you can't get too low. Everybody wants to point at the games and, you know, it's a young team, a young quarterback, and stuff like that, but we just have to have that focus. Throughout the season we just weren't able to do it, but we still went out there and put ourselves to the test and won games, but we just weren't able to come over the hill.
Q:Do the Patriots look much different to you now as opposed to week one?
A:Well obviously these guys are a totally different team from what they were when we played them earlier on in the season. We have to be ready and prepared for that. These guys aren't going to be the same from what showed up playing when we played in Buffalo. These guys are playing at home and they have a lot at stake, so it's totally different. Thankfully Wilfork and Mayo are out, so they'll have to shuffle a couple of guys around, but they're still playing great football and still positioning themselves to get to the playoffs.
Q:What are your thoughts on the Patriots winning all these games with all their players going down with injuries?
A:Coach Belichick and Tom Brady find a way to get wins. Can't put too much thought in it. And that's what it's all about; it's all about that day. Can't expect nothing else but getting ready to play. Those guys in back up rolls, they're doing a great job and doing what their coaches ask them to do.
Q:With another non-playoff season, do you feel like there's some positive going on in Buffalo right now or do you feel like you're treading water right now.
A:I think we're going in the right direction. First year coach, with a quarterback, and all the injuries on offense especially. But we still have done a lot of great things. Even though our record's not saying anything and obviously we're not going to the playoffs, we definitely are going to be looking out for in the near future. Pretty sure Bills fans are probably tired of hearing that but I can honestly say we're headed into the right direction here in Buffalo.
Q:Do you feel like you're a better team than your 6-9 record indicates?
A:A lot of people say you are what your record is, but to us we know we've got a great team here. We just lost some heartbreaking games. That's the way this league goes. We just have to find a way to be able to get over that edge, and we will. We've got a great leadership group. We've got a lot of great guys coming back in the near future. We're definitely going to get over that hump and make the Bills fans happy.
