SAN DIEGO (Nov. 30, 2005) -- Chargers Linebacker Ben Leber was placed on the injured reserve list with a foot injury that will require surgery.

Leber started six games this season before losing his job to rookie Shawne Merriman. Leber played in a total of nine games, getting 22 tackles and two sacks before missing the last two weeks with the injury.

The Chargers replaced Leber on the active roster by signing safety Scott McGarrahan, who's in his eighth NFL season.
