INDIANAPOLIS - The annual NFL Scouting Combine is set to kick off Wednesday morning at the Indianapolis Convention Center with 38 NFL coaches and general managers scheduled to speak throughout the day.
Texans GM Brian Gaine and Cleveland head coach Hue Jackson will lead off the proceedings, and Patriots fans will have added interest when Lions coach Matt Patricia (10:45), Titans coach Mike Vrabel (11:30) and Texans coach Bill O'Brien (3:30) take their turns.
As has been the case more often than not over the years, the Patriots will not have a presence at the podium as neither Bill Belichick nor Nick Caserio is scheduled to speak. Belichick last held a press conference in Indy in 2014 while Caserio generally conducts a one-on-one interview on Patriots.com.
New England joins New Orleans and Washington as the only teams not expected to address the media this week.
Starting on Thursday the players will begin meeting the media as offensive linemen, running backs and specialists leading things off. This year 336 players were invited to the Combine, and the Patriots will no doubt have plenty of interest on the defensive side of the ball.
