CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Running back Stephen Davis practiced for the second consecutive day Thursday, leaving Carolina hopeful he can play this weekend.
Davis, who has missed five of Carolina's seven games this year with a knee injury, didn't make any promises about Sunday's game against Oakland.
``I don't want to bad-luck it, you know what I'm saying? Right now I'm a lot better than I was last week,'' Davis said.
Davis had arthroscopic surgery to repair cartilage damage following Carolina's season opening loss to Green Bay. He missed the next three games, but tried to come back against Philadelphia in Week 5. He rushed for 66 yards on 15 carries, but developed swelling after the game that forced him to sit out the last two weeks.
