After going inside for yesterday's practice, the Patriots braved the arctic temperatures and worked out on their Gillette Stadium game field on Wednesday. Once again, the only player not in attendance was rookie WR Aaron Dobson (left foot). He's been on the shelf since aggravating his injury in the regular season finale against Buffalo.
It would've been nice to know exactly what Dobson's status was yesterday, but because of the NFL's incomprehensible rules regarding injury/practice participation reports, teams that play on a Saturday aren't required to submit one on a Tuesday – even if they actually held a practice. Yet, they'll have to submit one on Friday, when they won't have a practice. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Meanwhile, the Patriots made a couple of roster moves this week, elevating linebacker Ja'Gared Davis from the practice squad to the 53 and signing rookie WR Reggie Dunn to the practice squad.
