New England lost another player when free agent running back Jerry Ellison signed with Tampa Bay Tuesday.
Ellison was a backup in his only year with the Patriots. After signing with the team early in the season, Ellison appeared in 12 games in 1999. Most of his action came on special teams, where Ellison made 10 tackles.
The five-year veteran carried the ball twice for 10 yards and caught four passes for 50 yards. Ellison played with the Buccaneers from 1995-98 prior to joining New England.
In other news, former New England coaching assistant Chris Hadley is now coaching with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. Hadley will serve as the defensive backfield coach for Head Coach John Huard. A football operations assistant for the Patriots during the 1999 season, Hadley assisted the defensive coaches during his time in New England.
