Former Patriots Cheerleader to compete for the title of Miss America

Kelsey Fournier, a former Patriots Cheerleader and line captain, will compete in the Miss America Competition this month as Miss Rhode Island.

Former Patriots Cheerleader and line captain Kelsey Fournier will compete in the Miss America Competition this month as Miss Rhode Island. Over the past year, Fournier has promoted her platform of childhood obesity prevention, visiting schools throughout Rhode Island. Kelsey is a Pawtucket, Rhode Island native and a graduate of Rhode Island College.

Fournier was a part of the Patriots Cheerleading team during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons. As a Patriots Cheerleader, she traveled to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Qatar to visit U.S. troops, Punta Cana and Aruba for swimsuit calendar shoots and to Indianapolis to cheer on the Patriots at Super Bowl XLVI.

This year, the Miss America Organization is allowing America to vote for a contestant to automatically make it into the Top 15. To vote for Kelsey, visit her contestant page. Voting is allowed once per device.

The 2013 Miss America Competition broadcasts live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 12, 2013 on ABC.
