Giants' Burress rests back, probable for Week 3

New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress missed practice on Sept. 21 with stiffness in his back.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Sept. 21, 2006) -- New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress missed practice on Sept. 21 with stiffness in his back.

Burress, who caught a touchdown pass in overtime to give New York a win over Philadelphia in Week 2, is listed as probable for the Week 3 game in Seattle on Sept. 24.

Coach Tom Coughlin expects Burress to practice Sept. 22.

Second-round draft pick Sinorice Moss, another receiver, also did not practice. He questionable for the game against the Seahawks (2-0). On Sept. 20, he reinjured a quadriceps muscle that caused him to miss most of training camp.

Receiver Tim Carter returned to practice on Sept. 21 after missing the previous the day with an ankle injury. Tight end Jeremy Shockey also returned after missing a workout with an ankle injury.
