Giants put Arrington on IR, activate Awasom

The New York Giants placed linebacker LaVar Arrington on injured reserve and signed defensive end Adrian Awasom off the practice squad. Arrington tore his left Achilles' tendon in a 36-22 win over Dallas on Monday night.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Oct. 26, 2006) -- The New York Giants placed linebacker LaVar Arrington on injured reserve and signed defensive end Adrian Awasom off the practice squad.

Arrington tore his left Achilles' tendon in a 36-22 win over Dallas on Monday night.

Awasom played in five games for the Giants last season, primarily on special teams.

New York also signed cornerback Dennis Davis to the practice squad. He was in the Oakland Raiders training camp as an undrafted free agent after playing at Georgia Tech.
