Foxboro, Mass.-The New England Patriots were notified today that arbitrator Richard Bloch has ruled to remove Terry Glenn from the Reserve/Left Squad list, giving the wide receiver the opportunity to return to the team following his four-game NFL suspension.
He will be eligible to report to the team on Monday, Oct. 1, 2001. Glenn, who was notified of his NFL suspension on Aug. 3, was placed on the team's Reserve/Left Squad list by the team on Aug. 15.
"We hope that his desire to be reinstated is a positive sign and evidence of his willingness to contribute to the team this season," said Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick.
"Terry Glenn is under contract with the New England Patriots for the next six years," said Patriots Senior Vice President and COO Andy Wasynczuk. "There was never any consideration of trading Terry and we fully anticipated his return to the team next year. With today's decision, his return has been expedited. We certainly hope that it will have a positive effect on the team."
