NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, noting an increase of young talent currently in the league, compiled a list of the best players under the age of 25. Not surprisingly, Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is 23, made the cut.
For the purposes of the exercise, Jeremiah did not include any current rookies as they have yet to play a game.
Among the 10 players Jeremiah cited (he listed them in alphabetical order) two are members of the San Francisco 49ers — NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith. He also listed 10 others as having "just missed the cut." Initially it appeared New Orleans tight end Jimmy Graham was unfairly left off this list but a quick check revealed that Graham is 25 and therefore not eligible.
The one member that surprised me was Pittsburgh's Maurkice Pouncey. I feel several of the "missed the cut" category were more deserving. But overall Jeremiah's list was interesting and worth a peek.
