Harrison sits out of practice again, but Freeney returns

The Indianapolis Colts practiced again without eight-time Pro Bowl receiver Marvin Harrison on Thursday and may not have him against New England on Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS --The Indianapolis Colts practiced again without eight-time Pro Bowl receiver Marvin Harrison on Thursday and may not have him against New England on Sunday.

Harrison, the Colts' career receiving leader, sat out for the second straight day with a bruised left knee that has already forced him to miss two of the last three games.

"If he doesn't practice today, I'd say it's doubtful he'll play Sunday," coach Tony Dungy said before the Colts' workout. "I know he's looking forward to it, and we're looking forward to it."

Dungy had said Wednesday he expected Harrison to be back on the field Thursday. That didn't happen, and he wasn't the only starter missing.

Three starters from the Colts' line also were restricted in practice Thursday.

Starting tackle Tony Ugoh (neck) sat out, while right tackle Ryan Diem and left guard Ryan Lilja both had limited participation.

Former Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders took his usual Thursday off, a routine the Colts have implemented this season to try and keep him healthy, and linebackers Tyjuan Hagler (neck) and Freddy Keiaho (ear) were both limited participants for the second straight day.

The good news was that three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney returned to action and pronounced himself ready to play against the Patriots.

"I feel good, it's just aches and pains," he said after sitting out Wednesday. "You don't want to go too hard and not be able to go Sunday."

Backup receiver Aaron Moorehead was held out because of a team decision and backup safety Matt Giordano (hamstring) participated in some drills, but Dungy said he expected Giordano to play Sunday.
