TEMPE, Ariz. (April 18, 2006) -- Linebacker Gerald Hayes and defensive end Antonio Smith have re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals, the team announced.
Hayes, a restricted free agent, signed his one-year qualifying offer and Smith signed his one-year exclusive rights contract. Terms weren't disclosed.
Hayes missed the 2005 season after injuring his knee in training camp. Hayes played in 28 games for the Cardinals in his first two seasons, three as a starter.
Smith played in 11 games last season, eight of them as a starter in place of the injured Bertrand Berry. He had 14 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.
