Job Title: Java Developer

We require a team player to become fill the full time position of Java Developer
The succesful candidate will be able to create new applications and websites in the start-up phase, and create additional high level applications for existing websites. Will work initially on a variety of sport related websites – team sites, such as Patriots.com; athlete based websties; as well as creating new developments such as Java applications for real time scoring of events etc.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Must have Science, Mathematics or Computer related degree, 2-4 years commercial experience or 3-5 Years commercial experience in the internet industry.

Responsibilities / Requirements:
The candidate will have a broad programming and software design experience in UNIX, Windows NT and Linux. Excellent programming skills in Java, C/C , TSQL, ORACLE, Ms SQL 2000, EJB, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, J2EE, GUI Programming (to include SWING), Object Orientated Programming Methodologies, RDBMS and server side software. Extensive hardware experience on PC, Networking, and UNIX: SUN/SOLARIS, HP/UX. The candidate would have designed, developed and deployed variety of highly complicated Client/Server and Internet-based distributed applications integrated with Database and Process Control software modules. The candidate will be a forward thinker who is constantly on the look out for new software and applications that you help TWIi achieve the best level of service to its clients in the web industry as well as the Interactive TV market. The candidate will be able to think out of the box and be able to integrate their solutions with hardware architectures that take advantage of reverse proxy cacheing, unicast satellite distribution, WebTV/iTV limitations and architectures etc. The candidate must be able to take these into consideration when designing the architecture of the application etc. The candidate must first are foremost be thinking about code / object reusability and techniques to optimally re-use applications. The candidate will have used various web servers to include and not limited to APACHE, Netscape Enterprise Server, IIS etc.
Desirable:
Candidate to be fully versed in OODB methodologies and principles (experience would be even more advantageous).
Experience in Application servers to include Web Logic, WebSphere, Orion etc.
Working knowledge and or experience of the JINI architecture and Java Spaces.

Essential:
Must be prepared to relocate to Boston. Must be able to work to the guidelines of the technical project manager. The candidate will work as part of a team, and be responsible for helping out technical webmasters where necessary. The candidate will have strong coding techniques and adhere to documentation and code commenting standards.
Desirable:
A strong interest in sport and its development through new and creative technology. Someone ready to think outside the box, and want to get their hands dirty in all aspects of a projects life cycle. Someone who wants to learn all about Interactive Television, as it relates to Sport and other entertainment areas. Candidate will want to progress up to a higher position after proving their worth.
