Organized team activities (OTAs) began this week. The team will have a total of ten voluntary workouts before the mandatory mini-camp from June 17-19. On Friday Darrelle Revis met with the media for the first time since becoming a Patriot. He talked about OTAs and what he's focused on at this point in the season. For more information on this week's OTAs, check out Andy Hart's OTA Blogservations.
During the team's off day on Wednesday, a group of players showed up to the NFL's PLAY 60 event at Foxborough's Igo Elementary school. One of those who joined in on the fun was Rob Gronkowski. Gronk spoke to the media following the event and said that his recovery from knee surgery is progressing well. Patriots owner, Robert Kraft was also at the event and made a sizable donation to the school. Just one day after the PLAY 60 event, Robert Kraft and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell hosted yet another community event inside Gillette Stadium's Dana-Farber Field House. As part of USA Football's Heads Up Football program the Patriots held its first ever Moms Football Clinic, which aimed to raise concussion awareness and educate moms on the sport.
Not only did Julian Edelman replace Wes Welkers production on the field, he also seems to have replaced Welker's role as "class clown" in the lockerroom. Edelman released his latest online video called 'Burgertyme'. Fellow teammates Chandler Jones and Ryan Allen appeared in the video, so if your a Patriots fan, its definitely worth five minutes of your time! But Edelman, Jones, and Allen aren't the only Patriots creating laughs on the internet; Devin McCourty had some fun of his own on the streets of Boston. McCourty traveled to the city to give the commonwealth some free safety advice. Check it out!
