DENVER (Nov. 20, 2005) -- Quarterback Brooks Bollinger sustained a head injury in the first quarter of the New York Jets ' game at Denver and was replaced by Vinny Testaverde.
There was no immediate word on the extent of his injury.
Bollinger got hurt on the Jets' second drive, when he was sacked twice in a span of three plays. The first happened when he tripped after taking the snap and was touched down by Michael Myers; the second when linebacker Al Williams dumped him for a 5-yard loss after a 7-yard scramble.
Bollinger stayed in the game and threw two passes before New York punted.
Testaverde, who signed with his old team after injuries to Chad Pennington and Jay Fiedler, took over when the Jets got the ball back late in the second quarter, trailing 17-0.
