New York Jets right tackle Damien Woody will be placed on season-ending injured reserve with an Achilles' tendon injury, coach Rex Ryan said Wednesday.
Ryan said Woody played through the injury in Saturday's 17-16 first-round playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts. He missed the previous three weeks with a knee injury, and Ryan said the Achilles' injury is in the other leg.
Jets players who sat out Wednesday's practice included guard Brandon Moore (back) and wide receivers Brad Smith (groin) and Patrick Turner (illness). Quarterback Mark Sanchez (shoulder), cornerback Antonio Cromartie (groin), wide receiver Santonio Holmes (quad), cornerback Darrelle Revis (hamstring), center Nick Mangold (shoulder), fullback Tony Richardson (finger) and linebacker Bryan Thomas (ankle) were limited.
