FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - New York Jets wide receiver-kick returner Brad Smith was not active for the team's divisional playoff game against the New England Patriots because of a strained groin.
Smith was injured in last week's playoff-opening victory at Indianapolis. He will be replaced on kickoff returns by Antonio Cromartie, who had a key return on the Jets' winning drive.
Cornerback Drew Coleman, the team's nickel back and a key special teams player, was active for the Jets after injuring a knee in practice Thursday.
Also inactive for the Jets were: fullback John Conner, linebacker Vernon Gholston, defensive tackles Marcus Dixon and Jarron Gilbert and tight ends Jeff Cumberland and Matthew Mulligan. Kellen Clemens was the No. 3 quarterback.
Patriots defensive lineman Myron Pryor was not active for the game Sunday. Pryor missed seven games, played against Miami in the regular-season finale and was injured in that game.
The Patriots' other inactives included running backs Fred Taylor and Thomas Clayton, wide receiver Taylor Price, cornerback Tony Carter, linebacker Marques Murrell and offensive linemen Mark LeVoir and Rich Ohrnberger.
