Julian Edelman among 7 PUP Patriots

New England veterans not ready for work in Foxborough.

A group of Patriots rookies and veterans hit the practice field Monday, Amendola (knee/ankle) Jackson (knee) and Lewis (knee) are working back from previously-reported offseason procedures. All four were absent from the practice field throughout the spring practice, except for an appearance by Lewis on the final workout of June. Harbor, a free agent addition from the Jaguars, had been on the field throughout spring workouts. A player must open training camp on PUP in order to be eligible to be placed on the reserve/PUP list to open the regular season. Though rookies, injured returning players and select veterans have already reported, the rest of the veterans aren't due at Gillette Stadium until Wednesday.
