Patriots All-Pro linebacker Jerod Mayo is one of six players featured on regional covers of Sports Illustrated's upcoming NFL preview issue.

Mayo's photo marks the 25th time the Patriots have appeared on the SI cover. Maybe SI, like me, thinks Mayo will have a defensive player of the year type season in his new Will role in the 4-3? By the way, in his preview story Peter King predicts the Patriots to win the AFC East with a conference-best 12-4 record only to lose at home in the postseason yet again to the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs. King projects the Falcons to beat the Chargers in the Super Bowl.
