The New England Patriots announced the signing of cornerback Leonard Myers Monday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

The 5-10, 190-pound Myers is the second member of the team's 2001 draft class to come to terms, joining fifth-round selection Hakim Akbar. The 22-year-old was selected in the sixth-round (200th overall) of the 2001 draft.
A four-year letterman at Miami (Fla.), where he started 19 of 42 games, Myers recorded 132 tackles and intercepted nine passes for 160 yards. He was also credited with 35 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. As a senior, he earned second-team all-conference honors after starting five of nine games and recording 26 tackles and two interceptions.
