Last season, NEPAC helped the Fairfield, Connecticut Giants Pop Warner team get to Disney.
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – When Tom Brady won his first Super Bowl at the end of the 2001 season, he said the same thing everyone says when the confetti drops:
"I'm going to Disney World!"
Well, the New England Patriots Alumni Club (NEPAC) recently donated $10,000 to help the eight New England Pop Warner championship teams travel to the National Championships in Orlando, Florida, where they'll compete in the Pop Warner Super Bowls at Disney World.
This is the third-straight season NEPAC has helped New England's champs do what Tom Brady did.
"NEPAC is dedicated to supporting youth football in New England and is committed to helping defray traveling expenses for these champs," said NEPAC President and former Patriots center Peter Brock. "Each team is required to raise its own funds to get to the tournament, and they only have a short time to do it. We want them to be able to focus on the fun, not the finances."
This year, four Massachusetts teams, two Rhode Island teams and two Connecticut team were the beneficiaries of NEPAC's contribution, with $1,250 going to each team to assist with travel costs.
NEPAC would like to congratulate the following Pop Warner champions:
East Lynn Bulldogs - Massachusetts
Boston Raiders - Massachusetts
Dorchester Eagles - Massachusetts
Brookline / Jamaica Plain Jr. Patriots - Massachusetts
Edgewood Eagles - Rhode Island
Mount Hope Cowboys - Rhode Island
Wolcott Eagles – Connecticut
New Haven Steelers - Connecticut
Created in 2005, NEPAC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to supporting and funding youth and high school sports programs throughout New England with an emphasis on football. NEPAC provides an opportunity for former New England Patriots players to remain actively involved with each other, the Patriots organization and the community.
