News Blitz 2/11: Moving toward the offseason

The appearances continue but it's time to look ahead to the offseason in today's News Blitz.

The appearances seem to be winding down for the players but today's Patriots.com News Blitz features a few more individuals making the rounds.

The big story of the day in that regard was Malcolm Butler receiving the MVP truck from Tom Brady. ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss was on hand when he took the keys. Reiss also details Brandon LaFell's appearance at NFL Network yesterday.

In terms of football, Reiss takes a look at linebacker Dont'a Hightower and his rehab process following shoulder surgery.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe says the offseason is about keeping the core together by shifting some money around.

Nick O'Malley of the Springfield Republican wonders if this is the year Brady gets a big receiver in the draft.

CSNNE's Tom E. Curran believes the game's final minute may lead to the end of Pete Carroll's Seahawks.

WEEI.com's Mike Petraglia has news of Indy Star columnist Bob Kravitz' mea culpa with regard to the deflategate situation.

Petraglia also cites a FoxSports report that indicates former Patriots receiver Wes Welker is mulling retirement.
