Jeff Howe](http://bostonherald.com/sports/patriotsnfl/theblitz/2014/02/sourceadrianwilsonexpectedtobereadyforstart_of)* of the *Boston Herald reports that, according to a source, Patriots veteran safety Adrian Wilson is expected to be ready for the start of offseason workouts.

After signing with the Patriots as a free agent last offseason, Wilson was placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury following preseason action.

"Wilson was placed on injured reserve after a sluggish 2013 preseason, but the optimistic view is the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder will finally be healthy enough to be a physically imposing threat over the middle, even if it's only in sub packages," writes Howe. "If Wilson isn't up to speed, the Patriots can of course part ways and save the money."

Field Yates of ESPNBoston.com believes that Vince Wilfork could be a candidate for a Terrell Suggs-type extension. Suggs' recent four-year extension runs through 2018, and he'll receive $16 million in bonuses and guarantees up to $28 million over the next five years.

"It's hard to project just how much money Wilfork would seek on the open market next offseason and where the Patriots would value him if they discussed an extension right now, but Suggs' new deal with the Ravens seems like a plausible course of action for the Patriots as they continue to evaluate their offseason finances," adds Yates.

Don Banks of Sports Illustrated shares his first 2014 NFL mock draft and projects the Patriots to pick Texas Tech TE Jace Amaro with the 29th overall pick.

"He's a big, productive target in the middle of the field and knows how to use his body to create separation from defenders," writes Banks. "But if he doesn't last until the Patriots' pick, New England could address its need at defensive tackle, opting for Minnesota's Ra'Shede Hageman. He's an explosive, disruptive playmaker who can play almost anywhere on the defensive line, which is exactly what Bill Belichick prefers of his guys up front."

Fox Sports South lists their top 35 NFL free agents. Patriots WR Julian Edelman, RB LeGarrette Blount, and CB Aqib Talib all make the cut. The list also notes that New England could be a likely suitor for Packers free agent DT B.J. Raji.

"Heading into his age-28 campaign, though, Raji still has the athleticism and proper size (no Gilbert Brown-esque overeating here) to be a Bro Bowl-worthy asset in the trenches. He's still a premium talent at one of the NFL's toughest positions to fill."
