In this Patriots offseason that is less than a month old there has barely been a dull moment, and that continued on Thursday. Late in the afternoon the team posted statements from Greg Schiano and Bill Belichick, informing the public that Schiano had resigned his post from the Patriots coaching staff.
ESPN.com tries to offer some details. They turn their attention to a potential replacement for Schiano, who was expected to assume defensive coordinator duties. The Boston Globe offers its two cents as well. NBC Sports Boston wonders what’s next for the defense. WEEI.com takes a crack at the same question.
In other news, ESPN.com chats with Malcolm Mitchell, who has plenty left to do after announcing his retirement earlier in the week. In terms of receivers that are actually on the roster, the Boston Globe writes about newcomers Maurice Harris and Bruce Ellington.
MassLive.com says the Patriots have interest in UMass wide receiver Andy Isabella.
