Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that Patriots rookie DL Dominique Easley has been been a limited participant in drills this week, according to a source.
"The first-round pick is nearly seven months removed from ACL surgery, which was performed by Dr. James Andrews, and all accounts insist there's no question he'll be ready for the start of the regular season," writes Howe. Blake Baratz, agent of Patriots rookie DL Zach Moore, tweeted yesterday that his client has signed a contract with the Patriots.
Field Yates of ESPN Boston tweets that the Patriots have signed another one of their draft picks.
Erik Frenz of Boston.com believes Ryan Wendell and Dan Connolly could be competing for their jobs in training camp after the Patriots drafted linemen Bryan Stork, Cameron Fleming and Jon Halapio in this year's NFL Draft.
"The Patriots re-signed Wendell to a two-year deal in March, but the deal includes only $850,000 guaranteed," adds Frenz. "Connolly's cap hit is $4.08 million in 2014, but the Patriots could save nearly $3 million by cutting him." READ MORE>>
Ken LaVicka of ESPN West Palm reports that the Patriots have invited former University of Tennessee WR Nu'Keese Richardson to mini-camp.
"Richardson's high school coach, Blaze Thompson, received a phone call from Patriots coaching staff assistant Michael Lombardi on Wednesday morning to inquire about his former pupil," notes LaVicka.
