The New England Patriots had a special guest over the weekend. NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue was in town to take in the Patriots-Bengals game with owners Robert and Jonathan Kraft on Sunday. On Monday, he will attend meetings with the Patriots top brass.
Several topics are on the table with the construction and funding of the Patriots new stadium, CMGI Field taking top priority. The NFL has agreed to $150 million in financing for CMGI Field as part of the league's initiative to aide teams in larger markets with new stadiums. Tagliabue will also tour the construction site.
Another issue to be discussed is the NFL's ongoing plan to create a robust NFL Interactive Network on the Internet. The New England Patriots have been on the leading edge of team efforts on the web since Patriots.com launched in 1995 and it has fully supported the league's efforts to leverage the assets of all 32 team websites. Tagliabue is visiting various teams for input on this important step for the league and its fans
