(May 2, 2007) -- The NFL has reached an agreement with Titan Media to become the official sports media partner of the NFL in China.
As part of the agreement, Titan, publisher of Titan Sports, the largest, most influential and widely-read sports newspaper in China, will increase its coverage of the NFL and American football, bringing the excitement of "America's passion" to a Chinese audience.
This coverage will include the regular season, playoffs and Super Bowl, along with other NFL-related content focused on the league's activities and events in the world's most populous country, leading up to the first-ever NFL game in China, slated for the summer of 2009.
Published three times a week, Titan Sports newspaper reaches an audience of more than 6 million, bringing sports news to its readers from a large contingent of correspondents around the world.
Titan will also feature the NFL in All Sports, a monthly magazine devoted to the stories and personalities that captivate sports fans worldwide. The NFL is committed to the growth of American football in China. The league is in the process of opening an office in the country and its core grass roots youth initiative, Flag Football, is played by more than 5,000 children in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Four Chinese kickers are taking part in NFL Europa, as Chaoran Li and Shen Yalei are members of the Amsterdam Admirals while Ding Long and Gao Wei are with the Berlin Thunder, all vying to ultimately compete in the NFL.
