Training camp opens in about two weeks and the Patriots have only signed three of eight draft picks – seventh rounders Sean Morey and Michael Bishop and sixth-rounder Marcus Washington.
That may seem like something to worry about. But using recent history as an indicator, fans should take solace in two things.
First, since Patriots Vice President of Business Operations Andy Wasynczuk took over salary negotiation duties in 1994, the Patriots have never had a player hold out of training camp.
The second item to look at is last year's draft picks and when they signed in relationship to the start of training camp.
Camp kicked off on July 19 for the 1998 season.
Note that seven of the 10 draft choices signed their deals within four days of the start of camp.
