FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots are saddened to learn of the loss of an original Boston Patriot, Jack Davis. He died on New Year's Day in Palm Harbor, Fla. He was 80-years old.
Born March 12, 1932 in Braddock, Pa., Davis played college football at the University of Maryland before being drafted in the 15th round by the Washington Redskins in 1958. He was signed by the Patriots in their inaugural season in 1960 and appeared in all 14 games for the team that year. It was his only season with the Patriots.
According to a former teammate, Jack once sang the national anthem prior to one of the Patriots games that season.
