Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe offers a story on Patriots defensive end Jarvis Green who recently agreed to a five-year deal worth upward of $18 million with a $3.5 million signing bonus. Green would be the top candidate to start should Richard Seymour choose to holdout the entire season.
Michael Felger of the Boston Herald writes that though the Patriots have lost their two starting inside linebackers (Ted Johnson, Tedy Bruschi), Richard Seymour is holding out of training camp and the players are adjusting to new coordinators on both sides of the ball, the Patriots are still primed to repeat their success of previous years. "In 30-plus NFL seasons I can tell you that some of the seasons where teams have undergone the most change or what might be perceived as the most difficult circumstances turn out to be the best years," said Bill Belichick.

Belichick is quoted as saying that Watson is "an exciting player to have on the field." Watson is looking to make the sophmore jump and show off the skills that made him a first-round draft pick of the Patriots last year.
