In today's Boston Herald, you'll hear from WR Wes Welker. He was down in Tampa for Super Bowl week and spoke on the radio about the loss of Josh McDanielsand the apparent (though as yet unannounced formally) promotion of Bill O'Brienon the Pats offensive coaching staff.
"He works his tail off. He's a film rat. He's constantly in [the film room]," Welker said of O'Brien. "He understands the game. He understands our offense. He’s been a great fit for us in what he wants to bring to the table. He has a lot of the calm demeanor that Josh had. I look forward to going forward with him and seeing what we're going to do as an offense and how we're going to fill the void that Josh left."
Meanwhile, *The Boston Globe *has some hard numbers on what **Matt Cassel's **salary would be if he gets the franchise tag.
