Brown is seeing green ... gang green, that is.
According to The Boston Globe, WR **Troy Brown** visited and worked out for the New York Jets on Monday. Here's a sample from their story today:
"It's unclear how genuine the interest is from the Jets and their coach, former Patriots assistant Eric Mangini. This could just be the latest salvo in an increasingly bitter feud between the Patriots and Jets ..."
But across town, the Boston Herald thinks Mangini's courtship of Brown could be serious.
"It's no secret the Jets have long coveted Brown," their story reads in part, "but that was before he turned 36, spent nearly an entire season coming back from knee surgery and didn't catch a pass in the one game he played.
"The question is, do they really have a need? Actually, it's not out of the realm. They could use a slot receiver."
Meanwhile, a columnist for New Hampshire's Nashua Telegraph finds it unthinkable that Brown would consider playing for the Jets.
"So let's have a day for Troy. Let him enjoy the honor. Then bring him back at some point as an assistant coach, as he would make a darn good one.
"But, Troy Brown, don't finish your career wearing another uniform," the author pleads. "For some players, it's not an issue, but it would be here. Not to mention the fact the fans would indeed be devastated."
