**Mike Reiss** of ESPNBoston.com got a chance to catch up with Patriots' punter Zoltan Mesko on Friday.  Mesko made an appearance at Hill-Roberts Elementary School in Attleboro this morning and read to fourth grade students as part of the Patriots' "Celebrate Volunteerism" campaign.  In speaking about bouncing back from the Super Bowl loss, Mesko said, "It definitely hurt to experience that. At the same time, it's a never-ending pursuit of perfection, and we will try again, and again, and again. If we can get up 20 times and fall down 19, that's all that matters."  He continued, "You have to move on. I'd rather be there, just like Tom (Brady) said. I'd rather be there every year and lose than not be in it. You always want a shot at it, even if it's a 10 percent chance of success. It's worth it. That's when you know you're living life, giving it your all, and you have no regrets."

**Chad Finn** of The Boston Globe gives us 18 "Patriot-centric" thoughts on Peyton Manning.  One of his points: "The biggest disappointment of yesterday, at least from a New England standpoint, is the sudden belief that Wayne will go wherever Manning goes. The veteran receiver essentially confirmed interest in playing for the Patriots a few weeks ago when asked by the NFL Network's Willie McGinest, and with his smarts and precise route-running, he'd be a nice fit here. Or would have been a nice fit here, I guess."

**Nick Underhill** of Masslive.com questions whether it makes sense for the Patriots to pursue WR Mike Wallace.  Underhill writes that on the surface, going after a player of Wallace's caliber is a no brainer.  However, there could be questions on the business side of things.  "The team needs to sign tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez and safety Patrick Chung to extensions over the next two seasons, and locking up nearly 20 percent of the cap on two wide receivers could make it difficult to fill the remaining roster spots with quality players."  Underhill believes Brandon Lloyd may be a better free-agent fit. 

**CSNNE.com** reports that there has been no news from Patriots' right guard Brian Waters on whether or not he will return to the team next season.  After the Super Bowl, Waters said he would take two-to-three weeks to decide whether he wants to retire or play out the second year of his contract.  "There's no question the signing was a smart one for New England. How Waters' tenure will end is less clear."
