DL Vince Wilforkwas the center of attention as he showed up for yesterday's mandatory mini-camp. After practice Wilfork spoke with the media, ""I love football," Wilfork told the Boston Globe. "It's something mandatory. I signed a six-year deal. I'm going to meet all my obligations and that's being here for mandatory stuff. That's why I was here"
The *Boston Herald *also quoted Wilfork as saying, "I’m doing everything in my willpower to stick around and get something done before the end of this season." The Herald goes on to explain how his attendance at mini-camp will influence his contract negotiations.
After finishing last year on the IR, LB Adalius Thomasis excited about the start of the new season. Thomas told the Boston Herald, "I just want to come back and be productive, be competitive, play competitive and at a high level week in and week out".
Last week Jets coach Rex Ryan has some tough words for Patriots Coach Bill Belichickwhen he said "I never came here to kiss Bill Belichick's rings". Belichick addressed the situation to the *Boston Globe *yesterday after the Patriots opened mini-camp saying, "I have a lot of respect for Rex. What he did in Baltimore - the defense his team has played. We've always had great battles with the Jets, so I'm sure that will continue. It's a good rivalry."
