Patriots' DL Richard Seymourhas been saying that he has never felt better coming into the season as he has this year. After playing in the first pre-season game, the veteran is still feeling like a rookie.
"Just being able to run around on the field and not have any concerns about kind of limping, or gimping, or something like that," said Seymour to the Boston Globe, who had one tackle. "It was just fun to run around and feel young."
Another player feeling good about the first pre-season game is Pierre Woods. The third year linebacker had arguably the biggest impact of anyone on the team as he set up the Patriots only touchdown when he strip-sacked Raven's QB Joe Flacco. The Boston Globe caught up with Woods to find out why he plays the game.
"Football is fun. It's always been fun to me. I love football," said Woods. "I always have loved football. There is nothing else in this world that I will ever do besides play football. Where else do you get to hit people and you don't go to jail for it or nothing like that? I mean, I'd hit your mother if she had equipment on."
Junior Seauwho has yet to decide whether he will return for his 19th NFL season telling the *Providence Journal *that "I kind of like the surfing gig right now, surfing and doing what I need to do with the kids … it's going to take a lot for me to put a helmet back on."
He also confessed that if he were to return it would be with the Patriots. “If there’s a situation that comes up, I’ll definitely look at it, but it has to be something with the Pats. I mean, there's no sense in me going to another locker room when I have my guys in that locker room that are going to hopefully finish what we started,"
Finally, The *Boston Herald *Reports the Patriots have signed Jeff Shoate to the secondary due to the recent loss of S/LB Tank Williams.
