The Patriots will take another step in their offseason today with the start of organized team activities (OTAs) in Foxborough. The third phase of the offseason consists of three weeks of OTAs, which will take place May 27, 29, 30, June 2, 3 and 5, June 9, 10, 12 and 13. The phase concludes with mandatory mini-camp June 17-19.
OTAs will feature some group work between the offense and defense, including 9-on-7, 7-on-7 and full team drills. The players will not be in pads and there is no contact permitted at these workouts.
The team has designated three dates (May 30, June 5 and 12) as open to the media and Patriots.com will be there to chronicle the happenings at Gillette Stadium. Mini-camp is also closed to the public but open to the media, and we'll be on hand for all three days of activity then as well.
The end of mini-camp concludes the offseason program and the players will then get a few weeks to prepare for training camp, which will kick off at the end of July.
