Patriots Partner with Sina.com Online to Enhance Chinese Content

The National Football League’s (NFL) three-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots continue their global outreach to fans around the world.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The National Football League's (NFL) three-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots continue their global outreach to fans around the world. Today, the team announced an agreement with SINA.com Online (San Mateo, California) to enhance the team's Chinese-language portion of its Web site at www.patriots.com. The partnership with SINA.com Online will allow the Patriots an opportunity to offer more American football and Patriots-specific content for Chinese-speaking audiences worldwide. In addition to translation services, SINA.com Online will also provide a link from its web site's sports section.

"We are proud to be the first team in the NFL to commit content on our Web site to Chinese-speaking audiences," said the Patriots Director of Interactive Media, Fred Kirsch. "We were pleasantly surprised to see how much interest we attracted in our first year and look forward to working with SINA.com Online to expand our scope and outreach to fans around the world."

The content will include a range of information to attract new fans of American football, as well as more specific Patriots content for the more advanced fans. The site will include information on the Patriots players, with releases posted regularly and constant news and notes updates. The team is targeting a launch date in mid-July, just prior to when the team reports to training camp to kick off the 2005 season.
