TE ROB GRONKOWSKI**
From your perspective, what happened out there tonight?
"We didn't play a good game overall as a team. I've got to give credit to the Kansas City Chiefs. They came out and were ready. They came hungry and outplayed us."
Is there any sense of panic in this locker room?
"We've got to stick together as a unit. We've got to get better. We've got to practice hard and get ready for the week coming up."
What's not working for you guys right now offensively?
"I would say everything - including myself - blocking, throwing, catching. Whatever it is, we've got to go out there, work together and get better. [We need to] do our jobs."
Are you close to 100 percent?
"I'm out there playing."
DB DEVIN McCOURTY

Can you learn anything from tonight or is this an aberration?**
"You can always learn a lot from everything. I think the biggest thing we're going to take away from this game is we got to play a lot better if we're going be a good team and win games. I'm disappointed as this is the most embarrassing game I've ever been a part of. We lost in every aspect. We'll definitely learn something from this and learn a good amount. But now, it's all about fighting and getting better and trying to play better next week."
Did the team show enough fight tonight even when it started going in the wrong direction?
"I thought we kept fighting. You want to see that. That's character. I think this team has character. I think that gives us a chance to go back this week and practice on the short week and try to get ready to go for next week and for the remaining part of the season. It's only game four, if we didn't have any fight, that wouldn't be good right now at this point in the season. I think we have a lot of guys in here that are willing to fight. We just got to get to it."
Did Kansas City's big play-makers surprise you out there?
"No, we checked the stats, we knew they spread the ball around. Everyone made some plays. We didn't do anything well. When you don't stop anybody, you have games like this. All their big players made plays and we didn't make any."
RB STEVAN RIDLEY
What's the mood of the locker room after tonight's loss?
"We've got to get back to work. Tonight is unacceptable, but tonight is the night you give the Chiefs credit for what they did. They came out with a game plan and they executed it. They played better football than we played tonight. It's not about pointing fingers, we just have to get better. It's not good enough, we're not accepting it, and that's not how we play football. We're just going back to work and going back to the drawing board."
Is there any sense of panic in here?
"We don't believe in panic. You take your losses. You man up and you get better. That's all you do. That's how we play football and that's how we work. We're not freaking out. We're not throwing in the towel. We're going to take our lashings and keep moving. This is what's going to define us down the road. There's a lot of football left to be played. It's still very early. If you want to be weak-minded about it, then you can. For us, we just have to battle back. That's what we're going to do."

Comments on the Patriots defensive performance:**
"We just never got anything going; nothing. Defensively, we started the game with a couple of stops in the run game. That's the only thing we had in the whole game. We could never keep them in third and long or get a handle on the run game. It just wasn't good enough. I give credit to them (the Chiefs). They didn't do anything we didn't expect them to do. They just executed. They executed perfectly. We were always out of the game it seemed. We knew they feel comfortable playing from ahead. We knew it was going to be tough. We took one on the chin. They beat us like we stole something. It's pretty bad, but we have to correct mistakes and move forward. This is a short week. We will watch the film and hopefully we never have this feeling again because it sucks to have this feeling. We knew it was going to be a tough game. They basically destroyed us."
Comments on the Patriots defensive performance so far this year:
"We still have a lot of football, but we have to start now. There are some things we have to correct now. We need to get more confidence and more consistency going forward. You have to go from there. Each week there is going to be something different. Am I worried? I am always worried when we put out a performance like we did tonight. That is not us. We will watch the film, make corrections and move forward. Like I said we are on a short week this week. We have another football team we are facing at home. We don't have time to hold our heads down, be sad or let this carry over to this week."
QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO

Is this the way you imagined getting your first NFL playing time?**
"No, not really, but it's one of those situations where you have to be ready at all times."
When did you know you were going into the game?
"Coach told me on the sideline to get ready. I am a relief pitcher, pretty much so that is my job."
What were your thoughts when you went into the game?
"Go out there and string plays together. That is all you can do at that point."
Were there any positives you can take away from this game?
"The first time there are a bunch of learning experiences. It is good experience, in general, to get this out of the way. We will go back and watch the tape. I am sure there are tons to learn from it."
LB JEROD MAYO
Was this the worst loss you have been a part of?
"Definitely but at the same time you have to approach it with the attitude that this is happening now, it's early and it's something we can fix. Obviously, we will have to watch the film. We'll go back to the drawing board and try to get it fixed."
This team has had some difficulty stopping the run. How do you get it fixed?
"The game before we had a pretty good game. This is just one of those outings where they did a lot of different things and we could not tackle the guy with the football. Let's not over complicate it. At the end of the day, that's what you have to do."
With two good performances and two bad performances, does this team know who it is yet?
"I don't think so. It's early in the season. It is all about consistency. Right now we are not consistent at any stage on the defensive side of the ball. We have to put together multiple games. That's is what it's all about, getting hot. It's not just one person or one side. It's all of us."
