FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots re-signed cornerback Terrell Buckley today. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Buckley, 31, played in 15 regular season games and all three of the Patriots postseason games last season. He recorded 26 tackles (24 solos), one sack and three interceptions, including a 52-yard return for a touchdown during the 2001 regular season. In the postseason, Buckley notched five tackles, intercepted one pass and recovered a fumble in Super Bowl XXXVI.
The 5-foot-9-inch, 176-pound cornerback has played in 157 career games, including 124 starts during his 10-year career. Buckley has amassed 469 career tackles (424 solos), including two sacks, eight forced fumbles and recovered five fumbles. He has also snared 41 career interceptions, totaling 638 yards and five touchdowns.
