FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have re-signed OL Cole Croston. Croston was released from the Patriots on July 30. In addition, the Patriots released undrafted rookie DB D'Angelo Ross.
Croston, 26, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Iowa on May 5, 2017. The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder made the 53-man roster out of training camp as a rookie and appeared in three regular-season games and the AFC Championship Game. Croston began the 2018 regular season on the New England practice squad and was added to the 53-man roster on Sept. 15. He appeared in two games as a reserve before being released on Nov. 6. He re-joined the Patriots practice squad on Nov. 8, where he remained for the rest of the season.
Ross, 22, was signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of New Mexico on May 2, 2019. The 5-foot-9, 190-pounder appeared in 23 games over his junior and senior seasons at New Mexico after transferring from Fullerton College. Ross finished his college career with 85 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble. He led the team with 57 tackles as a senior in 2018.
