FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed rookie free agent OL R.J. Mattes. Terms of the contract were not announced.

Mattes, 23, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on May 13 out of North Carolina State and before being released on May 23. The 6-foot-6, 313-pounder, was a four-year starter at both guard and tackle and was named a second-team All-ACC as a senior in 2012.
