FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that they have released FB Lousaka Polite.
Polite,30, joined the Patriots on Dec. 27, 2011 and played in the season-finale vs. Buffalo (1/1) as well as all three postseason games, including Super Bowl XLVI.
Polite, 6-0, 245 pounds, originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Dallas out of Pittsburgh in 2004. After three seasons with the Cowboys (2004-06), Polite played with Chicago (2007) and Miami (2008-10). Polite went to training camp with Miami in 2011 but was released prior to the start of the season and was out of football until joining New England at the end of the regular season.
He has played in 76 NFL games with 27 starts and has 95 rushing attempts for 296 yards with one touchdown and 41 receptions for 233 yards and one touchdown.
