FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that rookie DL Marcus Forston has been signed to the practice squad. Forston was released by the Patriots on Wednesday.
In addition, S Cyhl Quarles has been released from the practice squad.
Forston, 22, was originally signed by the Patriots as a rookie free agent on May 10, 2012 out of Miami. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder, was inactive for the first two games of the 2012 season before making his NFL debut last Sunday night at Baltimore with action on defense as well as on special teams.
Quarles, 23, was originally signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a rookie free agent out of Wake Forest on May 11, 2012. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder was released by Baltimore on Aug. 31, 2012. In 50 career games at Wake Forest, he totaled 239 tackles, two interceptions, six passes defensed, two forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery.
