FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that the team has signed DT Marcus Harrison. To make room for Harrison on the roster, the Patriots have released DB Phillip Adams.
Harrison, 6-3, 316 pounds, was originally drafted in 2008 by the Chicago Bears the third round (90 overall) out of Arkansas. During his 37 career games over three seasons with the Bears, Harrison amassed 55 tackles, 3.0 sacks and three passes defensed.
Adams, 5-11, 192 pounds, was originally signed by the Patriots on Sept. 21 and was active but did not play in the games at Buffalo on Sept. 25 and at Oakland on Oct. 2 before being released on Oct. 8 and signed again on Oct. 13. He was originally drafted in 2010 by San Francisco in the seventh round (224 overall) out of South Carolina State. Adams played in 15 games for the 49ers last season and finished with 13 total tackles and one pass defensed.
