FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots announced today that DB Phillip Adams and DL Landon Cohen have been signed to the 53-man roster. Terms of the contracts were not announced.
In addition, C Dan Koppen (leg) and DL Myron Pryor (shoulder) have been placed on injured reserve.
Adams, 5-11, 192 pounds, was originally drafted by San Francisco in the seventh round (224 overall) out of South Carolina State. He played in 15 games for the 49ers last season and finished with 13 total tackles and one pass defensed.
Cohen, 6-3, 300 pounds, went to training camp with the Patriots this past summer but was released on September 3, 2011. He was originally signed by the Patriots on December 22, 2010 and played in two games with one start and finished with four tackles. He is a veteran of three NFL seasons after spending time with the Detroit Lions (2008-09), Jacksonville Jaguars (2010) and Patriots (2010). Cohen entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick by Detroit in 2008 NFL of Ohio.
