FOXBORO, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced the signing of fifth-round draft choice Dave Stachelski today. He is the ninth player of their 2000 Draft class to sign with the team.
Stachelski, 23, was drafted by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL draft. He was the 141st selection overall. The 6-foot-3-inch, 245-pound tight end was a four-year letterman at Boise State. Last year, he caught 31 passes for 453 yards and led the team with six touchdown receptions. His 31 receptions ranked seventh in the nation among tight ends. He helped guide the Broncos to a 10-3 record and a conference title while earning all-conference first-team honors as senior.
