FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed 2019 third-round draft pick DL Chase Winovich. Terms of the contract were not announced.
Winovich, 24, was selected by the Patriots in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the 77th overall selection out of Michigan. The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder was a four-year letter-winner at Michigan, playing in 45 games with 26 starts and totaled 185 tackles, 18 sacks, three forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. Last season, Winovich started all 13 games along the defensive line for the Wolverines and totaled 69 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and five sacks, earning Associated Press third-team All-American honors.
