FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have signed WR Devin Lucien. In addition, the Patriots released DB David Jones.
Lucien, 25, was originally drafted by New England in the seventh round (225th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Arizona State. The 6-foot-2 200-pounder spent his rookie season on the Patriots practice squad and went to training camp with New England last year. He has had stints on the Indianapolis, Kansas City, Houston and Tampa Bay practice squads. Lucien has not played in an NFL game.
Jones, 24, was originally signed by New England as a rookie free agent out of Richmond on May 5, 2017. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder went to training camp with New England last year and was released prior to the start of the regular season. Jones joined the practice squad on Sept. 3, 2017, where he remained for the rest of the season.
